Welcome to Sikka. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles your data, permissions, and security.
1. Overview & Data Ownership
Sikka is an offline-first Point of Sale (POS), billing, and inventory management application. All your business records—including product lists, sales transactions, purchases, customer/vendor ledgers (khata), and expense entries—are stored locally on your device.
We do not collect, track, upload, or sell your personal or financial business data to external servers.
2. App Permissions & Why We Need Them
To provide POS functionality, Sikka requests access to specific device features:
- Camera: Used solely for scanning product barcodes to speed up sales checkout. No photos, videos, or image feeds are stored or shared.
- Bluetooth / Nearby Devices: Used strictly to connect and print receipts on 58mm / 80mm ESC/POS thermal printers.
- Storage / Files: Used only to generate, save, and export PDF invoices and JSON backup files initiated by the user.
- Biometric / Fingerprint: Utilized locally via standard Android security APIs for PIN/Biometric app lock. No biometric information is ever accessible to or stored by the app.
3. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing
- Sikka does not integrate third-party analytics trackers, data brokers, or advertising networks that collect personal identifiable information (PII).
- When you choose to export reports or share PDF invoices via third-party apps (such as WhatsApp, Gmail, or Cloud Drives), the sharing action is completely initiated and controlled by you.
4. Backups and Data Deletion
- JSON Backups: You can generate and export complete JSON backups to keep your data safe.
- Data Deletion: Because all data is stored locally in your device’s internal storage, clearing the app storage or uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored data.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any modifications will be updated on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
